Representational art

Representational art is perhaps the oldest types of art there is. Representationalism represent actual subjects from reality. It aims to represent actual objects or subjects an can be done in many different styles. My goal as a traditional artist is to produce photo realism when I use fine art mediums. It is what some have come to call Hyper Realism. That's been my goal as an artist as far back as I can remember. But can do other styles.  Most portraiture artist charge between $5000-$20000. They come to your home, an do a "LIVE" sit. I work off of photo, yours or mine. By doing this, I can offer the same value for a little less to reach the "average" person. Not that anyone is average to me.

I have a step by step process I follow, an will walk you through it painlessly. I share my work in process. Document it and keep you posted. You will be able to follow along on its journey. I give a estimate on how long the process takes, it can take longer depending on the complexity of the project. You are notified all along the way.

Artist Consultation Fee

Each art project has a set up fee. This covers time spent via the phone/email with you, the client discussing your project. I use the time to gather ideas, research and collect the details from you regarding your order. It covers approximately a 1-2 hours: the beginning & end of the project not to be abused. The service is non-refundable. It is part of the art process. Artist Subject

In this area you will pick what type of art I will be doing for you. I have standard things I do for folks. It relates to skill level needed an difficulty of the art project. It's layout. It is half the time it takes an artist to do your artwork. Some require more thought, sketching etc. Obviously, some art projects are easier then others. Some more detailed. Require more attention. This is the layout, idea and design prepping charge an time. Clearly, Oil painting is harder to paint then just drawing a house with pencil. A portrait takes less time to sketch a design from a photo then a full scale original fantasy character. So this relates to difficulty of the project. I welcome challenges, but children are easier to draw the adults, at least for me. So, the price goes up with the amount of detail and attention required. A design for a small tattoo is easier then a large scale original design for a mural size painting. So this correlates to higher originality skill level a project will need. The prep time before the actual full out art begins. The more detailed something needs to be, the higher the price.

Artist Time

Once the subject above has been chosen it's time to bring it artfully to life is the next step. This is the amount of time it takes the artist to do your artwork. In this section you will choose what size art you'd like me to do. It shows approximate length of time it will take to complete your project. Please keep this size you've chosen in mind while choosing the surface your work will be done on.

Art Materials

In this area you will be choosing the style of art you want your project in. It is the cost of the art materials to complete different types of artwork. Visibly, some mediums are more expensive then others an you'll need to pick the budget you can afford.

Artistic Surface

Keeping in mind the size you choose above and the art material style you choose, please choose the correct surface for your art materials to be applied to. Drawings, colored pencil, pen & ink and marker would need Drawing Paper. Watercolor its own special kind of watercolor paper. Pastel board is used for Pastel, Chalk & Charcoal work. Scratch board illustration obviously needs Scratch board an only comes in one size. You may have to adjust your selection above. Canvas & Canvas board are for Acrylic and Oil Painting. Glass is a material you would pick in a reversed glass piece of art. Mural hardboard is for Acrylic paint. So, look for the size you picked above an choose the correct surface within that size range. The size in Artist Time, an the size in artistic surface should match! No worries if you select mismatches, if you do you will be contacted by the artist an billed the remaining amount via paypal. That amount must be paid before artwork is released to you.

Matting

Matting is optional, but the largest thing I can matte myself is Sizes Up to 24 X 20. Do not choose this option if your artwork is on glass, canvas or mural. Frame not included.

Shipping Cost

Shipping cost can vary depending on choices above. Some of the larger canvas & murals might require additional shipping cost paid. I will let you know if that happens.

Returns & Additional Cost

This is a service, there are no returns. Time can not be refunded nor materials already used. While I will try my best to rework a piece of art reasonably to your satisfaction I won't continue to provide my time an art services for free. If you demand, or need additional artist time or materials then originally paid for, you will be notified there will be additional charges billed to complete your project. This is a rarity, normally never happening but there is always that one exception that an artist has to guard against. You will be notified before hand. No surprises.

Care

All art on paper should be protected from moisture and from prolonged, direct sunlight.

Copyright

The commissioned work is still copyright to the artist, not the commissioner unless an agreement is established otherwise. Copyright agreement and of rights purchase is available. You receive the original art, but please remember that the artwork copyright will belong to me at all times, so I might use it on site, for prints, stickers, t-shirts, book covers etc. without notifying you. If you are interested in a full buy out of the copyright, a commercial use license -- royalties -- and additional cost may be involved. You many use your artwork anywhere as long as it is not for commercial use and you provide credit where credit is due to the artist & a link back to my site. You can not upload the commission to commercial retail or product sites. If you intend to use the commission on your own |  in your commercial work--let me know so we can make an agreement. Pricing may differ.

Rules

I will only start work after I receive payment, reference material & | or photos of subject.
I reserve the right to refuse any commission if I feel uncomfortable with it.

I don't do fan art or replicas of others art.
I dont do people without a release model signed by the subject.
I don't draw celebrities unless they commission it themselves.
I don't draw smut, genitals or porn. Nudes are fine--erotica okay --porn isn't.
