Ace of Base is a Swedish pop group formed in Gothenburg in 1990, best known for their catchy, danceable tunes and blend of pop, reggae, and dancehall influences. The band originally consisted of siblings Ulf Ekberg and Jonas Berggren, along with their female counterparts, Malin and Jenny Berggren. They gained international fame with their debut album Happy Nation (1992), which was later re-released in the U.S. as The Sign in 1994.
